Notation is the name of my design practice.
The name comes from musical notation: an underlying system of principles and rules that allows something expressive to emerge.
I think about products in a similar way.
Behind the final object are decisions about shape, construction, ergonomics, materials, technology, interaction and brand.
My work is often about finding the principles that connect these things and carrying them through into the product.
